Design and Syntheses of New Receptor Molecules for Recognition of Biologically Important Ions and Studies on Supramolecular Self-assembly
    (2012-05-30T09:27:48Z) Mahato, Prasenjit
In summary, a series of novel Ru(bpy)32+ based symmetrical amphiphilic complexes 1, 2, and 3 containing three C18, C14 and C10 chains, respectively, at equilateral positions formed vesicles in polar aqueous-methanol (9:1; v/v) medium and reverse vesicles in nonpolar medium like toluene and cyclohexane. These vesicles and reverse vesicles were characterised by DLS, SLS, AFM and TEM studies. AFM and TEM confirmed the spherical and hollow nature of these aggregates. Aggregate formation was also confirmed by dye encapsulation and photophysical studies in respective solutions.
